My 2014 1.6 GT has disappeared from my life... I took it to the garage 7 weeks ago because of an occasional clonk when driving over the worst of the trillions of potholes here in Kent.
Initially I was told the drivers front spring had broken and had to be replaced. Then I was told the shock absorber had completely seized and would need to be replaced. Then came the news that they had to be replaced as a pair... Then, I said I may as well have the top mounts replaced at the same time.
A 2 1/2 week lead time for the shocks (one eventually arrived but not the other) has now extended to 6 weeks ! Apparently they have to "come from Russia" and "have to be modified"
As the car sat undriven on top of a ramp it developed coolant loss from the water pump. £500+ job to repair apparently.. I already paid £450 for the thermostat housing to be replaced after leaking coolant back in December.
The suspension cost ? £800 and rising but the garage have kindly agreed to put a cap on the job at £750 and they also have been very generous with a courtesy car.

I am starting to fall out of love with this beautiful/fun/rare little car as I also contemplate the odd occasional screech from the clutch, and a looming timing chain requirement in 8K miles.

Does anybody else feel this way about their little coupes...??????

Well I had specifically said that I was happy to have non-OEM parts.... It would appear that many of the larger repair shops will only go down the route of going to Peugeot to order these items? Why could they not have offered the customer the options to weigh up cost/availability..

There isn't anything showing on Euro car parts, GSF and Autodoc only have a front left available.

Here is the thing.... I work for a parts supplier, and I asked my boss (car parts guru) about it. He said it is quite normal to have to buy a pair, and these lead times are also common place.
I asked how come only one arrived if they are sold as a pair - and he said that is quite common as well. A lot of our Renault and Dacia parts come from the Ukraine and back orders are incredibly lengthy now. Mazda parts are commonly 3 months or more.

I think perhaps given the age and value of the car I should have trawled ebay for a pair, and the spring and top mounts, and asked a mobile/independant mechanic to fit them. These prices and lead times are probably more suitable for a newer car. Also, I am not sure suspension and coolant leaks are covered if I had gotton an extended warrantly for £384 per year...?

Broken spring on my car was replaced as a pair under Pug Warranty...3rd Party Warranty is usually as useful as used bog paper...the costs even allowing for parts you state are very high....I would not be giving them my business..they seem to treat you like you have given then a blank cheque!...hope you get it fixed as it's galling when garage has your car....

Are you a member of the RCZ owners on Facebook? If not, I think you would be wise to post this there as there is a lot of knowledge on that site.

Do they know where all the missing car parts are located then?

Peugeot apparently moved the parts distribution to Ellesmere port in Cheshire some time ago & the parts system did throw a wobbler for a while or how long is a piece of string??

What aftermarket options are available for the RCZ?

A full suspension upgrade might not be much more than genuine Peugeot parts.

As above, would aftermarket be an option?
Bilstein dampers are good and surely do an option. In fact they could be standard?

Failing that, does the RCZ share suspension with the 308? Maybe not attaching "RCZ" to the proceedings could help.

Yes the standard suspension is Bilstein and you can buy a full Bilstein coilover kit for not much more than the standard kit and it’s far superior, that’s what I did as y cars almost 13 years old and it were just a matter of tie before I broke a spring.

You need to find a specialist garage because those prices you’ve been quoted are crazy
