Next time you are quoted a couple of hundred quid for your car parts, spare a thought for one of my customers who had a very slight bump in his Ferrari F12, resulting in a damaged headlight.............................the replacement was, wait for it..............................£2780 + VAT + fitting :shock: :shock:

Well snowy boy,l need a new headlamp enclosure for the Dagenham biscuit box although nowhere near as expensive as the F12 owner l was quoted £663+ vat+fitting today by a Ford parts department,but l wish l had the luxury of being quoted all that dosh for my F12

Yeah they are replacing the drivers side mate but l have to buy a black bezel headlamp to match the new one as they're silver just now,but l have l think a get out of jail card according to the parts department on their computer or ETIS my car should have been fitted with black bezel headlamps from the factory.

Simply speaking if they order a headlamp for my car using the car's VIN number it arrives with a black bezel enclosure :shock: :shock:

Well lucky us that we don't own Audi's. My brother was gonna buy some foglights from an RS4 i think (to use on another car) and he said they were about 700 €, don't remember if that was just one side or both :lol:

Going back to the Ferrari. It's all relative isn't it. If you can afford the Ferrari, the headlight is just a drop in the ocean

I think you will be shocked at the cost of all modern parts, my friends VW passat cc blew a xenon bulb and damaged the headlight cost £800 plus £200 labour, VW weren't going to pick the tab up because they only have 6 month warranty on bulbs, but they did in the end.
My wifes ML led rear lights indicator bulb failure, whole unit had to replaced cost £350 plus labour good job warranty.

Yeah agreed but there should be limitations to how much you can be ripped off no matter what Marques.

Swings and roundabouts, if they can afford the car then no point in grumbling about maintenance/repairs.....

However I do moan about buying "a 308 in a fancy jacket" and having to shell out £250 a tyre!

The price of parts from dealers is why a huge independent aftermarket in vehicle parts exists! Often the parts we sell come from the same manufacturers that supply the car manufacturers but we are able to offer big savings!

Isnt it about percentages though £2k against a £100k car isnt as bad as £500 against a £6k fiesta ??
