Just wandering if the sound box that gives the throaty noise when excelarating has a filter of some sorts ?

I've noticed recently that the "throaty grunt" seems to be a bit queiter from inside the cabin :eusa-think:

I found that after awhile the sound does deminish somewhat as the air filter beds in, got my sound back by installing a K&N air filter.

Have you really noticed a difference in exhaust note since fitting the filter? Can't say I have but have noticed a difference in response. Had cause to overtake 3 cars in one go yesterday and just swept by them. Most responsive.:)

My exhaust note was definatley on the wane before I fitted the K&N, in fact went to my dealer to find out why, my car also is more responsive now.

Is the K&N filter a complete new housing or just an actual filter replacement.
