Who says detailing doesn't pay?

Here's the story. October 2010 I bought a special edition Dodo Juice wax. It was a special for Halloween. 666 pots were made, no more. Each pot was individually numbered (can't remember what mine is). I've never used it (not intentional), the container is in perfect condition and the number is still on the pot ( a lot of them, the numbers came off but mine has been stored in the fridge since day 1).

When these come up for sale on DW for instance, they sell like hot cakes but for more than we originally paid for them. They've become very collectible and I'm getting PMs almost on a daily basis, asking if I'm interested in selling mine. Now it's not silly money. I bought it for £12.99 but they now sell for anything from £17 to £25.

So should I sell it or hang on to it because they will become even more rare in the months/ years to come?

I'd be interested in what you would do :)

I'd be inclined to keep it for the long hall in mint condition as its not exactly a huge thing that takes up tons of space ;)

I'd hang on to it too. The price is obviously ascending but not yet to the point that I'd feel a compulsion to sell. As Chuzz says, it isn't taking up any real room and so I can't see the harm in holding on to it at least a little while longer. It'll only become rarer.

You don't use waxes on Pearl as you prefer sealants and by the time you buy the new face lifted Red model you will have a different wax in your sights so sell it, after all you have had it over two years now and not used it. The reason you bought it was not as an investment so why continue to give it fridge space? Quite clearly you must be considering this option seriously or others would not know that you have it. So SELL SELL SELL

I once posted on a thread that I had a pot when someone sold one for £25, because I was so surprised at how much it had sold for, hence the PMs I get. I have just recently bought another wax, which is only 1 of 89 made (mine is pot 89 of 89). I've got several waxes that I've not used or only used a couple of times but that doesn't mean that I won't ever use them again. As Ron said, should a red or another colour come along, then that carnauba may well come out of the fridge :)
