Putting my 4 wintergrips on this afternoon! We've got a fair bit of snow .... but travel 15 miles into Aberdeen and NADA!!!

... my OH used snowsocks on his RS last year, got him out of a few sticky moments!! But he's bought the same winter tyres as me this year ... I have a feeling they won't last long on a 450bhp FWD motor!!

No snow down south yet but will be ordering a set of snow socks as they are easy and quicker to fit than chains

Let's not forget last year was one of the worst winters in history. We had prolonged cold temperatures of -17C. Conservatory roofs, greenhouse roofs and guttering collapsing under the weight of frozen ice.

i can feel an evoque coming on.

Im happy to report the Evoque had to deal with the snow today and it was amazing. I live in a small village which hadn't been gritted the Evoque glided through the snow with ease

Even my Hubby was surprised as he said it wasn't a "proper" Land Rover

It Came, It was fun, It was hell,(some people should not be on the road) I almost put her in a ditch :( trying to avoid someone doing a 360 coming towards me  So I ordered 2 Dunlop snow tyre's (£285) :( it went------ Hmmmmmmmm oh well next time I'll be better prepared, On the whole i did enjoy it though the RCZ was not bad on the standard continental tyres but should be a dream with the snow tyres.

Hi Guys, Fitted Vredestein Wintrac Xtreme 235/35 19 all round last week. My first impression was apprehension as I was not sure what to expect and had I done the correct thing spending a lot of money on something that was going to be useless. Boy was I wrong. These tyres are FANTASTIC. They are slightly softer above 7 deg but have the same level of grip as original Continentals. In the rain or should that be RIVER they were ten times better. I negotiated endless roundabouts really hard to try them out with no under steer at all. As for braking, acceleration, road noise all fantastic. I now don’t understand the need for expensive high performance tyres when these are so good in every condition and I speak as a tyre fanatic. I can’t wait for the snow! :greetings-wavingblue:
