Hi all, so last week had my car in the MD for the essential annual service, wasn’t comfortable due to the fact they simply can’t Jack the R up without damaging it.

Service manager said they are difficult to get on their ramps without scraping the underside plastic under tray.

I actually appreciated the honesty, and we agreed mine going forward would only be put on a 4 poster ramp.

Opinions please, to preserve the value of any marque, especially something like an R, dealer service would always benefit future value and provenance, but should we be heading for an indie to service our cars.

I honestly don't think a full Peugeot service history adds any value at all. I would much rather see an owner that has chosen a specialist garage that is known for their work. Everyone uses main dealers to maintain warranties and fear of resale value.

My car has been to Peugeot main dealers twice. Both times the technician I spoke with, including the master technician, didn't know what an R was. They were completely unaware of common issues with the engine or the car. They didn't sound knowledgeable at all.

I swopped to an Indie for my R last year. All work invoiced and receipts for parts and fluids which I obtained (OE filter, Total oils etc; the garage/Tech does not have to VAT registered for Pug Warranty) very happy with the work undertaken, had the full works for about a third of MD prices.
