SatNav Through Car Speakers

Using my Nokia E71 I can get voice guidance through the car speakers: however only when the audio source is set to the phone. When using the radio I do not get any voice guidance at all as the phone's audio output mutes when connected via bluetooth.

Is this the expected behaviour?
