Red brake Calipers

Hi all,

Been an RCZ owner for 6 months and it's true to say I LOVE MY CAR. I was wondering if anyone has either painted or replaced their brake calipers with red ones. I have a black RCZ with 19 inch wheels and wondered if it was worth/advisable to do?

Thanks

Katherine

Love them! Thats fantastic. Did you have them sprayed or was you brave enough to tackle them yourself?

Thanks

It's very easy Katherine, I did them myself. Each side took about half hr leaving some time between for the heat proof paint to dry. Applied 2 coats & I believe it was by folio-tec or something along those lines.
I think any hammerite paint will be ok.

Gd luck :)

You should do an open day for red CALLIPERS - I don't have the stuff to do it!

Hammerite and other "normal" paints won't do the job.

It's best you use heat resistant paint because brake calipers can be verry warm under braking. (I ones tried normal paint on a previous car, but it didn't last long)

I painted my calipers red during the first week of ownership, 18 mths ago. Used plasti-cote, signal red £3.99 from Wilko, one coat and still look as good today.

rczmk, do you have a 'distance shot' of the car showing what the calipers look like in relation to the car as a whole?

I would love to have a red caliper myself! However, not dare to DIY.

My current one is BLACK.

It does look great with them treated. I may, at some point, get mine professionally sprayed.
