Recycling Wax

In my cupboard I have a a third a tin of Collinite 476, a little bit of Auto Finese temptation and some samples ive picked up over the years...

What would happen if I took all my old wax, bought some carnuba flakes and melted it all down... and added some of my favourite bottled wax to reduce the hardness of the new solution.

I reckon I could get a tub of "moonshine" from all the stuff I have lying about.

or would it cause problems mixing waxes?

Excellent :) been a while since I ventured on DW but figured i'd ask on here before I threw myself into the bears den with a question which may be stupid

regarding the colly, why would you steer away from adding that? For longevity I've always found it great.

I personally don't like it. It's a pig to buff off and just not an enjoyable experience when using it. Plus it's a paste wax which I'm not a big fan of.

By all means if you like it, add it. Would be good to see and hear the results

it is a bugger to get off right enough! Going to have to have a bit of a research session on Waxes before I go guns a blazing in doing this.

I'm not expecting results to top what I could buy but I think it would be a fun and cheap activity to do with the missus with good results rather than getting a second mortgage and going to the cinema

I'm always so tempted to delve into the world of machine polishing too for applying the wax but too scared to
