RCZ R @ Frankfurt

I went and saw and it didn't win my heart. Then it never was going to in all honesty. I never have been interested in speed per se and so the idea of a fixed spoiler and stiffer suspension never was going to be my bag. I was very keen to see them in the flesh so to speak. I was surprised that the standard seat has the RCZ R logo but if you go for the optional full leather and full electric variant then you are getting the same seat that is in the RCZ GT, but with Red stitching. So no RCZ R logo just the standard Benson (lion) The interior is the same but with Red stitching in the leather as opposed to white/colour coordinated and a flash of Red on the gear lever. Starting price was 41.500 Euros.

Like the seats but other than that I think i'll stick with mine
And if I'm interpreting your pic correctly Ron it looks like red calipers on the front and black on the back!? Just being 'french' I guess

I like the RCZ R.

Wouldn't be able to afford one, not brand new at least but I like the little touches that set it apart.

I think I'm having a bit of a mid life crisis at the moment as I'm having a need for speed! I think I've been unleashed .... ;)

No. the arches were Black/Greyish Black on both models on display.

A correct interpretation. Not too sure why that was, but those wheels are on the same car

I'm afraid that hasn't done anything to win me over. The seats, red stitching on the steering wheel and other little touches are nice but, other than that, it doesn't bowl me over I'm sorry to say. Thanks for sharing though Ron.

Put the red stitching and the funky steering wheel on the regular RCZ options list and u could keep the rest :-(

Nice photos Ron - nice price too :eusa-think:
Shame about that bloke posing by the Red RCZ R  Thought that he could have dressed for the occasion. :eusa-think:

It looks better in black but I still don't like the R wheels or that fixed spoiler! I also think I paid quite enough for mine so I think I'll be sticking with mine! The amount of miles I do would cost me a bloody fortune in fuel!

What i want to know is, what have they done to improve the steering :eusa-think: Has the "turn in" been tightened up and hopefully its not so anaethetised and them seats provide far far more support :eusa-think: These where my gripes with the rcz  if all these are done :eusa-think: plus 270 bhp it should be a great to drive

I was just surprised that by paying for the upgraded seats, you get the same seats as we already have in our Z's now. So no special logo, simply red stitching. Whereas the basic seats look special to the RCZ R :eusa-think:

Surely by opting for full leather...the seat design doesnt change Ron...and Ron  Alcantara is more expensive than full leather........This doesnt make sense to me as this car needs heavily bolstered seats to keep the driver firmly fixed in this fast RCZ-R...BUT I MUST say them wheels are coming to me   they look great on F1's.Surely they could have kept the MANDATORY flip up spoiler on this car...but saying this Audi done the same with the TTS spoiler

That is exactly what I'm saying jassy. The optional extra/upgraded seats are the ones in our Z's. The standard are the one in the sport model, ie not electric but do look so nice

On cold mornings I do love my heated seats. If the 'R' seats were heated I would look into a set for my car (without the R though).
