Okay so a few weeks back the car started to go straight into the red after around 10 secs after I started the engine, all hoses and rad get hot as it should and the heating works, today I changed the temp sensor in the thermostat housing only to still have the fault. Does anyone have any idea what the fault could be? I'll put a mates scanner on the car tmr but just wondering if anyone has an answer. Cheers.

Yes that is what I get, it happens almost as soon as I start the car. When the engine gets warm and turn the ignition off then back to position two (all dash lights on but haven't turned it over) the temp gauge is normal. Soon as I start it the error message, I have put an OBD scanner on it no codes then when I read the ECT (engine coolant temp) it's a bit of a mess. Later when I get home I'm going to see if the radiator gets very hot so I can eliminate the thermostat.

Mine comes on when I start it then sometimes goes away but if i stop at lights etc. it comes back on sometimes it stays on. As I say I know nothing about cars - so anything you find I would appreciate if you let me know so I can tell my garage - I'm over 100 miles from any Peugeot garages who want to see it before commenting - but I'm wary of driving that distance - just in case something happens......
