Rattle issue!

Hello all I've seen a couple of thread mention rattels of some sort! Well I've been looking for my type but not found!
Anyways the rattle appears when the car is cold, sound like its in the engine, when I rev it's like a rattle but goes away when car is warm Peugeot said it was just the Tappets on the phone but Im training in mechanics electrical and trim removel now and know its not the Tappets! I think it's gunna he a bov fault but them sometimes it more of a vibration which is coming from the under trays but I don't want to start taking it apart because it obviously still has warrenty I have done 10000 miles already! I only got the car in October...
Anyone else think of what it could be before it goes into Peugeot?

Petrol engine?

The THP engines seem to have a characteristic where on a cold start the timing chain rattles for a short period of time, they all seem to do it.

Yeah petrol thp! I though about the timing chain didn't think it would rattle tho! Thp timing chains are on the left of the engine as you look at it? Just that's where the sound is coming from!

My 156 petrol is the same, especially when its cold. Even warmed up it's not the quietest of engines.

In fact a neighbour constantly tries to wind me up by saying have i changed the car for a diesel. :evil:

There will be diesel over his lovely lawn if he's not careful. :twisted:

I had a focus installed with a tivct engine. It used a converted zetec engine. On startup it rattled so badly.

Hi, I haven't been on the site for a while but I've got fed up with my beautifully looking car sounding like an old chuggawagon on any road other than dead smooth - of course this is barely any road surface! Rattles, clunks, scrapes, etc, etc. Come on Peugeot, get a grip and sort out our cars! We paid good money for them and invested in your concept! I want my car to perform the way it looks!

I haven't any rattles on mine, but thats perhaps I have the music on to load ! :dance:
You guys should try it, then it want sound like your driving with a bag of spanners in the back :D
