RaceChip promises and reality...

I sent a following question to RaceShip last Monday:

Hello,

I bought a RaceChip Pro for my Peugeot RCZ THP200

You promise 52Hp more than original engine has.

http://www.racechip.de/racechip-chiptun ... 978-r.html

I had a change to test my engine 2012-8-11 on Dynamometer and result was nothing you advertise! I am missing 25kW power that you promised. See, Attachment, the best was 165,5kW....

Can you explain this for me and why difference from first to third is 5kW?

They replied:

Dear Sir,

many thanks for your request.

The values given on our website are the calculated maximum values. Not
every vehicle reaches this value because it also depends on the tolerance
range of the vehicle.

The increase of 25 kW is quite a good result.

The torque increase would be interesting, this info is missing on the
dynochart.

With other questions we are available to you with pleasure. Please don't
delete the old messages, just because we can answer you faster then.

We hope this information was helpful for you.

Bottom line is that they promise 185kW. Best figure on Dyno was 165,5kW.
Funny thing is that they can not even read the chart. Go figure that :eusa-whistle:

And that's WHY I tell people, if they want more power to pay more and go to a specialist who write a custom program.

The ECU's of today are self learning. If you fool them with a chip they will try to adjust themselfs because the ECU relays on the readings from the sensors. It is possible that a chip will gain a few HP but over a period of time the ecu will correct the program.

The THP200 uses the same turbo as the DS3r so I'm guessing your gains should be about level with them- best option is to use a superchips map- that takes you straight upto 233bhp and it's proven.

On a side note- anybody know anyone selling a thp200 turbo?

e-tuners map is the way forward.
Agreed! But unfortunately can't do remote remapping on the rcz because of the new euro 5 software the ecu has!
