Potential new bloke

I need to buy a new car next February and am pondering the RCZ.

I drove a GT at the weekend and was impressed with everything except the high clutch pedal and the small gap there appeared to be on the left of the pedal making it difficult to rest your left foot.

Obviously buying an auto would be a cop out but i'm not sure in a daily journey that involves lots of stop start in traffic, I could live with the problem.

Does anyone know if the actual pedal bit can be removed and replaced with a narrower version?

An interesting one - no idea about the pedal but resting your foot is not an issue. I and numerous others have bought a footrest which simply screws in. Cost about £15.

I'll third that

You will get used to the high clutch. I don't even notice it anymore - it's just normal to me now

Welcome to the forum too :greetings-wavingblue: :greetings-wavingblue: :greetings-wavingblue:

Go on, you know you want to :eusa-whistle:

Thanks chaps very useful.

I will probably order around October if i decide to go for it but wondered if its worth waiting for the R version.

For waht its worth i also tried a Scirocco which didnt really impress me and was also going to try a TT but must admit was very impressed with the RCZ.

I agree with RCZ1. Initially I was concerned about the high clutch, but I don't give it a second thought anymore.

Not worth worrying about. ;)

If it helps, I have two cars and their clutch bite points are polar opposites but I don't even think about it, it took me a couple of days to adapt so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Also I have broad feet and I was concerned like you about the gap between the clutch pedal and the floor to the left of the pedal, but again you sort of develop an easy technique without even thinking about it.

Take the car for a few more test drives and see how you get on.

Totally agree. I don't notice the bite point and often am driving in hobnailed work boots........ no problems

I have got to be honest it did bother me,with a car thats premoted with sporty intentions it shouldnt have a clutch/engage gear point as high.it doesnt encourage swift progress

The pedals are high but, to be absolutely honest, you adapt as you do with any car and all it'll encourage you to do is ride the clutch less in heavy traffic if anything.

I've got used to it now and I've done over 7000 miles since picking mine up in April. Your quads may get a work out in the beginning! Lol I know mine do when I'm sat in traffic in London for hours!

The looks you get more than make up for it and the handling round corners is like its stuck on rails!

I looked at the Scirocco and the TT as well but after a lot of research chose the RCZ. I've had mine sat next to
both other models and the RCZ definitely looks the best.

Don't got for Peugeot Protect, waste of money!

I have found that the further back you can comfortably sit the less of an issue the high clutch pedal becomes.

If the clutch thing is an issue for you, i can 100% recommend the automatic. I have had mine for about 6 weeks and I really love driving her. You will love it, whatever choice you make as long is it begins with R and ends in Z.
