Popped my claying cherry….

With the wife away and very little else to distract me, plus a clear weather window of opportunity, it was an ideal time to spend virtually the whole weekend cleaning the car ready for the start of winter.

Having never used clay before I went with the safe option of the Autoglym bar and was very liberal with the rapid detail spray going through an entire bottle but better safe than sorry.

And……..wow what an amazing difference. Even with a light bar and my first attempt the paint work felt so much smoother, really like glass.

When you spend so much time up close with the paint work you notice every little tar and iron spot so I rued not getting any of those removers to improve and speed up the process but an order today at Polished Bliss has taken car of that for next time.

With 3 coats of polish and then a coat of wax (also both AG) the bodywork looks and feels great but next time I want to try a different polish and coating as that combination certainly isn't making the most of the white pearlescent paint and popping out as much as it could.

This could all get time consuming and expensive but it'll keep me out of trouble.

I have been using the Chemical Guys clay mitt for about 18 months now and will NEVER go back to a clay bar. They're much easier to use, quicker and far less messing about. I thoroughly recommend them.
