Hi guys, I'm new here so go easy on me...

Traded in my Focus ST today and picked up a pearl white hdi GT - complete with Sat Nav.

First impressions.... I absolutely love it!!

Now to get the remap booked............

Any other performance advice is welcome.

Cheers
Gary

Great stuff and welcome to the forum!!! RCZperformance (one of our sponsors and general all round good guy), is the man to talk to about performance upgrades. Check out his online ship too as he has everything you could want on there performance related and otherwise.

Personally, I'd buy a performance exhaust and perhaps a performance chip. My only concern with the remap is that it can show up at servicing, be wiped and void your remaining warranty. It's a lot of money to spend on something that might need redone post servicing. Also check out the new range of Forge parts that RCZperformance is carrying now.

Anyway, any pics of your new pride and joy? I presume it's the 200 you've gone for coming from an ST as you are...?

Welcome :greetings-wavingblue:

There are a few things that can be done with the Diesel, but its very hard to get any performance parts for it.
You can get a race air intake from Peugeot sport, with mesh badge, so the air intake is through that.
Then, theres a larger intercooler, hybrid turbo, performance exhaust and remap :)

I have plans to do all of that at some point :)

It says HDI ;)

Very little diesel performance upgrades on RCZ performance. I have offered time and again to be a guineapig :p

I'll bite...to be honest we do not have much because we do not get asked for much performance items for the diesel version. Yes we have all exhaust systems, filter, brakes, suspension, etc. If anything else is wanted even Peugeot Sport items we can get them you just have to ask ;) As for using yours as a guinea pig, as in what way ?

Diesel tuning is getting very popular recently. You may not have been asked as people dont realise they are just as tuneable as petrols. Most go straight for a remap. If you search for rcz diesel tuning, all that comes up is chips ajd remaps. There is so much more that can be done but no-one sells anything.

Guineapig as in if anything needs road testing to make sure it works lol.

We are getting off subject but here is my feedback on this. Yes I am aware about tuning diesels, that is why I offer modules (RaceChip) and remaps (through SuperChips at a discount). I asked many times for someone with a Diesel to go to SuperChips for a free remap for their development but nobody came forward. I am currently asking for someone with a THP156 for some development with Forge, but so far nobody. If you want us to look into developing something for your car so that it can be available for other diesel owners we would gladly look into this, but we first have to research the market on whether or not it is a viable investment for all parties especially the manufacturer of the items you are wanting to do. If you come across anything that a company has made for the RCZ whether it is for the diesel or petrol versions and we do not carry it please let us know, because unfortunately we are not able to know everything that is being done. Remember the RCZ is still a model that is not so popular with tuners and so not a lot of manufacturers are willing to invest time and money into development for it, so when it is possible it is something we need to jump on in order to get more tuned RCZ's out there. But they need an RCZ to do development first, so if you are willing to donate your RCZ for this then that is great. Demographics is also a key player when it comes to tuning as well. Mainland Europe and countries further afield from the UK are into this a lot and we sell lots of tuning items to those areas, unfortunately here in the UK not many RCZ owners are tuning their cars, you are one of the few that do and that is great! So if you can get the word out as I do here on the forum and especially on my Facebook page, then slowly but surely diesel tuning items will become available on our site. Remember I do everything possible to have the lowest prices but I also need to carry what is popular and wanted.

I understand its down to supply and demand. Im used to having a car where all the development has been done and you just buy the parts. Its a shame about the remap. I didnt have my car at the time :(

Anywho. I hope the OP enjoys his new Z :D

Yes to you not having the car at the time we were looking as they have the remap capabilities for the RCZ diesel now :( If you want to develop something for diesel let me know and I will look into it.

I am sure the OP will enjoy their RCZ and we still have stuff for them

My first and only of topic post (promise), I would love to help you and Forge develop some parts for the 156 and would gladly "donate" my car for experimentation. Sadlym however, this isn't viable given where we are both based. I would plead anybody closer to take up this opportunity...if only because I want to be able to purchase them myself!!

Recently learned off a Superchips tuning station in Aberdeen, however, I am reluctant to go down this route given that my car will be annually serviced from the end of next month. However, I am hopeful that the birthday fairies will be good to me in January so that I can purchase a tuning module!! :D

Hi guys - thanks for the welcome. Some very interesting reading on here regarding remap options.

I am actually looking at a remap through Motorsport Developments in Blackpool (as that's where I am based). However, I want to run the car for a couple of weeks to make sure there are no issues before I unleash the mappers!

One of the comments that does concern me is relating to the possible loss of the map should the car need to go to Peugeot (I presume this would be only if Peugeot re flashed the ecu?)?

How likely is this to happen - as I will probably use a specialist rather than main dealer for servicing.

Normally the only way a dealership will see a remap is if they do any check of the ECU which should not be necessary during normal servicing. The only time they should check the ECU is when it needs to be checked due to a reported issue. I am not aware of any dealership being able to flash the ECU, they normally would say sorry it's been tampered with and your warranty is in jeopardy.

So as the car is just over 3 years old I presume I won't have an issue?

In your case clearly warranty is not an issue. What you do with your own car is your choice.

On a slight tangent does anybody know what the situation would be with regard to a car that is out of warranty, but has been purchased with borrowed funds? I'm thinking if it's Hire Purchased (HP) then they technically own the car.
