Hi all,
I recently set up a catch can on my THP200. All seemed fine and I have checked and emptied it twice (it wasnt even a quarter full I just wanted to keep an eye on it). However last week I checked it before going on a longer drive and it was bone dry. The longer drive was about 400-500kms and when I got back I checked it again and still it was completely dry. Even the hoses were clean and there was little oil residue on the valve cover PCV outlet connection thing.
Is this a sign of a bad PCV valve? The car appears to be running fine otherwise, no funny noises or reduced fuel economy. I've taken the catch can system apart and re checked it is sealed/re sealed it so the valve should be getting suction (or at least no other air should be getting in. I still have the OEM pcv hose so might go back to that for a bit if nothing comes from the most recent sealing attempt.
