2013 THP 200 EP6CDTX
I've had increasing occurences of the P000A fault code, reducing the power until I restart the engine, then after a few cycles it goes away only to return the next day. I've tried changing the camshaft position sensor, and also swapped the 2 sensors to see if the code changed, to no avail.
I've read that this code can also be caused by a clogged or failing VVT solenoid, is this correct? I've had 2 attempts at getting the solenoid out (it's bank A, the infamous one at the back of the engine) but as is well known, it's an absolute pig to get to and even with the help of an endoscope the best I can do is get the T27 bit on the bolt but can't budge it. I can't remove the big air inlet hose from the intercooler to the manifold as the jubilee clip is spun round to the back side of the hose, and access is so cramped I'm terrified of rounding out the T27 bolt if I use too much force.
Before I go crazy trying again, am I going down the wrong route or is this likely to be the root of my error codes?
Supplementary question: If I do get the solenoid out, I will replace the torx bolt with a standard 10mm bolt as suggested elsewhere on the forum, but what size do I need? The current one is 6923.C6, it says "6x100-16", does that mean M6 thread, 16mm length? 100mm seems way too long!
Thanks for any advice!
