All interesting posts here. I am awaiting my 2.0 HDi 163 RCZ in September and I check the posts reguarly. My diesel New Beetle goes in for its first service on Monday (7000 miles.) They are changing the front shock absorbers, fixing the closing mechanism on the boot lid and investigating the horrible noises on the gear selector; all under warranty, I hasten to add. (Mexican built; AKA Richard Hammond of Top Gear!!!)

My first New Beetle used to lock me out regularly until the Owners club told me how to reset the remote system! The build quality on the first one was much better than this new one.

What I'm trying to say is it doesn't matter what car you get; problems will arise. The best advice is get the car back to the dealer, get a loan car and enjoy your RCZ when it comes back...

I finally saw my first one on the road last week in the car park of the Designer centre in Roermond in Holland. This is actually only the second one I have seen senn on the road and absolutely none in Germany where I live!!!

That's good news for you and sounds like a good service from your dealer

That's good news, I might ask Peugeot to check mine when it goes in for the oil change as I don't want to turn up in Austria with an oils slick from hell, I might just bring this up with them to see what they say.

Good result, Jez and thanks for the update and info. Hopefully you'll have trouble-free motoring from now on  .
