noisey clutch

Hi I am wondering if anyone could help me out. I have just bought a 2012 plated 1.6 sport but I seem to be getting a noise from the clutch. For instance if I am at a junction and put the gear in 1st ready to go.....as I am releasing the clutch a rubbing / grinding ish noise happens . It's as if something is rubbing on something else. The car Drives superb and I am really impressed. The noise is intermittent, doesn't happen all the time but I'd say 70% it does.

The car as 34k miles on the clock.

Please help

I seem to remember early diesel owners reporting clutch problems. I even think there were some modifications to fix it.

However, I can't recall petrol owners reporting a problem.
In general, I've found Peugeot clutches pretty bomb-proof - even in 100,000 mile plus cars.

Not a lot of help, I'm afraid. Regardless of any known (or unknown) issues, if you bought it from a dealer, I would consider taking it back.

Thanks for your response.

It is very strange.....I give a blast up motorway tonight to dust cob webs off and didn't hear a peep. I will monitor the situation and see if it solves itself.

I did buy from a dealership and also got a 12 month warranty so not majorly worried.

Thanks again for the reply.

mate I would go straight back to dealer and make sure your concern is logged that way you are covered even if you don't take it up with them till later. Pete is right about bomb proof. Our old runabout 307 HDI estate has 155k on the original clutch and still a smooth as you like. Sounds lie something is awry with yours if its talking to you already. have you noticed any funnies on the bite on hill starts?
