Hi all
Anybody else had this problem , unlocked car , open door and my so far faultless rcz decides it wants to play radio 2 on full volume only out of the passenger door speaker . Nothing would stop it, just had to lock it up music blaring and wait . Went off about 10-15 minutes later been ok since?
Dealer response , wait n see if it does it again . Brilliant.

Cheers

Thats really strange because the cars BSI should sleep after 3 minutes when the cars locked.

If it happens again record it as video on your phone, showing whats on the dashboard, centre console (to see what is lit up) and also they should be able to hear the audio from it.

I think perhaps the keyword here is "unlocked" car.
I would see about getting your boot locking switch looked at, it's a known fault that water can get into the switch causing all sorts of problems with the Z's electrics.
You notice these problems when you operate the central locking, hence unlocking the car.
My switch has been replaced 3 times, each time throwing up different electric symptoms, for instance when the switch first went faulty almost 3 years ago, my bootlid would pop open when I unlocked the doors, or it would pop open when driving off and the auto locking kicked in, but also there were other strange symptoms not directly connected to the central locking, but would occur if the central locking was activated, things like, the parking sensors would alarm whilst driving along at 70mph without any cars in front or behind me, or the radio would just start playing as soon as I unlocked the car, the hazard lights would indicate on the dash but would not be flashing outside, I've even had the rear spoiler constantly go up and down at traffic lights like its the queen waving to her people.

As soon as the bootlid switch was repaired all these symptoms stopped.

I've said many times on here that if your Z starts doing strange electrical tricks get your bootlid switch looked at to see if it's being affected by water ingress.

Hopefully your problem is nothing to do with the boot switch, but it maybe worth having it checked out just in case ;)
