Hello Everyone!

I've been lurking for the last month, reading up on all the fun you've been having with your RCZs, and I took a test drive two weeks ago.

I loved it so much, I just had to have one! And after two agonising weeks, picked it up this morning.

I've got the GT 156 model in Nera Black, with pretty much standard everything.

I finally got round to passing my test last year (after moving out of London) and the RCZ is only my second car (first was a 2.0L 2001 New Beetle, still sat on my drive) but I now feel more like I can enjoy the drive, rather than giggle at my older tank of a car.

Contemplating personalised plates (or at least ones with RCZ in them) but haven't made any real enquiries yet.

Here's some photos whilst the car was still on the dealer's forecourt - and I'll no doubt be following RCZ1's lead in detailing to try and keep it looking this shiny in the future!

So - thanks for all the info and discussion so far, and here's to many happy miles!

Welcome to the forum Lee :)

Always good to get a new member to the forum, especially one that is keen to look after his RCZ ;)

Your car looks great. I hope you enjoy many, many miles of happy motoring.

Hello and welcome, very nice choice you made there, would most defiantly recommend a good detail as black can be a real bum to look after, makes it so much easier with a good coat of polish ;)

It really is *so* shiney right now it stands out a mile in our work car park. Everyone's been by for a butchers :)

A good detail is on the cards though, Starky - I've got a G4/G1/G2 kit that I want to treat the windows with myself very shortly, and plenty of ONR to keep the thing generally clean, but I will be looking out for a good detailer down here in the south - especially as the car will spend a fair amount of time parked under a tree in front of my house!

I've used the G1 and is on windows right now, works a treat, been on about a month now and still going strong, can't comment on the other products as I have the ashpalt with matt paint but there's many many posts on here about it and there all good.
Dam it, cut that tree down, sap, leaves and bird poop, I'd be palpitating every night worrying about my pain ;)

The G4/G2/G1 kit will see you right.

G4 is the glass polish to ensure the glass is really clean. The G1 is the glass sealant and the G2 is to help get rid of hard to remove residue when buffing G1.

I've applied G1 to 2 cars recently and did the following. Apply G1 in circular motion over the windows, starting at the bottom of the window working up, then working back down , half overlapping where you applied going up and so on. Don't apply thickly, it spreads quite far. When you think you don't have any left on the pad (you only need 2 drops at a time) then go over where you applied to flatten out any areas which look thickly applied, working in straight lines. Working this way, I found it far, far easier to remove. It didn't require lots of buffing ad no need for strong arms :)

As someone who has just used Gtechniq C1+ and C1.5 for the first time, I can only say one word. Awesome !

Renowned for its self cleaning properties, I can only marvel at what it does. Husband has just driven 400 miles to the Lake District and back over the last couple of days in torrential rain. His white Discovery is showing minimal dirt and I mean minimal. Dirt normally gets thrown up the back of the Disco, yet this is still clean as are the sides (well the whole car). It really is very impressive and I WILL apply it to my car when I get the chance.

At my last house my drive had trees over it , so I bought a pop up canopy and fastened it to the trees, that kept the bird doo and sap off it !!
