Hi Guys gt the new car and will get pics online this weekend

couple of quick questions.

1. how do you get the display on inbetween the dials for things like fuel consumption etc? mines a 156bhp gt no nav.

2. my iphone 4s when plugged into usb with brand new apple cable keeps crackling. oh and is there a way to browse through playlists rather than just artists?

Hi Rick

1. The windscreen wiper stalk on the right hand side of the steering wheel - press the button right on the end, this will take you through three screens. If you press and hold the button, it will reset the computer on screens 2 and 3, if you are in them.

2. Can't help with the crackling cable but if you press and hold the List refresh button on the front of the stereo, you will get options for playlists and genres, as well as Artists.

Hope this helps :)

Well I don't have much to add to this. RCZ1's response answers it all. I also have a crackling issue when connecting with a cable to the USB port but not if directly connecting with a memory stick. I have tried a few different cables and have never managed to resolve it. It's a blooming irritation!

I've not suffered crackling cable problems. My iPod is always plugged in via USB and sound quality has always been excellent. Have you tried another phone just to compare ?

It does it with both my iPhone 4S and iPod Touch and my wife's iPhone 4S. It is rather annoying hence me tending to stream all my music via Bluetooth.

I often use my Iphone 4s too via USB and not had any problems.
Maybe a trip to your dealer is required ?

I did report it on taking delivery of the car. You may recall that the entire stereo unit needed replaced as it was jumping through CD tracks as well. However, I suspect that they didn't do anything with the USB part.

If you used the same USB cable with all the iWhatever devices then perhaps try a different one?

The loaner RCZ I had worked fine with my daughter's IPhone, can't say I was pleased given the music on it ;)

I have tried 4 different USB cables and all with the same undesirable effect and crackling so I am certain that it is not down to the cable. I have also tried the cables with 4 different Apple products and all with the same outcome. I know that it is not the iphone/ipod etc as each work fine with other peripherals.

Loved your remark about your daughter's choice of music!  I feel EXACTLY the same about my wife's choices... ;)
