Needing new turbo

Apparently I think my 184 000km driven original turbo on my 2011 THP156 is starting to show weakness with oil gaskets, so blue smoke, it boosts and runs otherwise just well but I guess those oil gaskets just are finally starting to give up, so in search of new turbo (because apparently these turbos last max. 120 000-180 000km), I would like to get any suggestion which brand is trustworthy and reliable like that original Borgwarner K03, or that's what I have understanded that 2011 THP156 uses originally Borgwarner K03 turbo, so which brand comes close to Borgwarner? Or should I buy perhaps Febi Bilstein remanufactured Borgwarner turbo? But I definetly want the most reliable and OEM level of quality turbo.

Apparently Borgwarner has stopped mass production of those exact turbos for THP156 engines which meant that if I want that OEM turbo, Peugeot dealership asked almost 3000€ for it, not gonna happen.

Thank you very much for any help!

The THP prince engine is also used in the BMW mini so might find one from them worth a call to a dealer in your country.
Hope this is some help to you..

Oh I see! I understand that BMW mini uses same engines etc but I understanded that those bmw mini engines have slightly different turbo, aka different thread sizes on oil feed lines etc etc (chatgpt said that they would fit mechanically those turbos but those aren't still exact and correct turbos for rcz thp156), but I guess I could try to give a call into BMW Mini dealerships, but since it's BMW, wouldn't that mean it's even more expensive than Peugeot dealership with their offered almost 3000€ turbo? 😅

Thanks for the response!

Have you considered a rebuild / refurbish. This for example....

Peugeot

A local mechanic could remove and replace for you. Just a suggestion.

Yes, I have considered and even talked about it on this post aka Febi Bilstein's remanufactured Borgwarner turbo, but just asking which brands really are as good and reliable as Borgwarner, I assume Febi Bilstein since it's German and has been long time in the business and they apparently say they make their stuff to OEM level of quality etc? And I was planning to go change this stuff on peugeot dealership, 590€ for whole work, willing to pay that because I want it to get right 100% and obviously Peugeot dealership knows everything that they need to know about my rcz.

Thanks for the response!
