Hello all.

No, this thread is not about RCZ's...Nor does it have any sexual content. :(

I was so lucky to go to the Wildlife Heritage foundation last Friday.

They are breeding some of the big cat's there. Really wonderful people doing an important conservation job.

The photo opportunities were simply amazing.

Hope you don't mind me sharing a few of my snaps.

I'd never take my camera out in Essex..... funny but expensive events there last weekend 'tho grrr

Yes he's a Clouded Leopard, with the daftest face on any cat I've ever seen. reminded me of Lee Evans....

I will probably post up a few more tomorrow, there were so many great cats and the best chance to take pictures.

Hi Jass

Some were with a zoom, some with a 100mm macro...We were allowed to be extremely close....the closest was to the Sumatran Tigers. I'll post up a shot tomorrow, he was approximately 12" away....

Only the Clouded Leopard was behind glass, but he gave the best show. Stunning creature.

As I say. One outstanding day.

Hiya,

This is the link to their website. I cannot say how brilliant it was, but we were allowed a little closer to the cats, only by a metre, but it allowed us to poke our lenses through the cage....carefully....Mum Tiger almost flippin' got me.....well my fingers and lens...the guide gave me a sharp step back command...I did.... :helpme:

The place is immaculate too. And they will soon be offering a stay over 2 day experience where the Lions are the alarm clock.
