So a Mazda 3 MPS joins my stable. She sleeps next to my RCZ every night. Got some awesome plans to get this little monster to 350hp!! Already ordered Hypertech for it from State side. From there we doing 1 step colder plugs, K&N and if i can convince the SO, Decat Downpipe!

Not a fan of this MPS Max its torque steer is worse than vauxhalls vxr range and l dont personally like non european interiors, the mazda 3 has very dark plastics as i can remember........So you have A Golf MKV1 GTI   ,RCZ 200GT  and now this Mazda MPS, ln Playboy/hefner styly showroom garage  have you found buried KRUGERAND GOLD.............  l must admit they are poles apart in their own way.

The MPS never went down too well with the british motoring press, AS it was up against some very strong rivals the MK V GTI,ASTRA VXR,FOCUS ST225 all being great cars minus the VXR of course...

Yeah I'm afraid to say that I'm a little surprised at your choice here Max, especially as a self proclaimed "hardcore car nut". It is a nice looking car to be fair but I had a colleague who had one but he didn't hold on to it for long. I remember him telling me that it had power by the bucket load (I can attest to its ability to shift) but that it had all the cornering finesse of a rollerskating elephant. It's a car that was widely derided by the British press. Not for it being a terrible car but for it being soundly beaten by its competitors. I love the other cars in your stable but I'm unconvinced by this one. I'll be interested to hear of your experiences with it especially after you add all those mods and extra power. I trust you'll be working out in order to wrestle with the torque steer.

LOL Jassy, i knew you were gonna hate it. If it makes you guys feel better about my financial situation, i sold the GTI for this (i will be buying a Golf 7 GTI end of the year though).

This car is a straightline bruiser. Its a bit dead first and 2nd gear but from 3rd gear on this car is just a monster. Its also incidentally my 2nd MPS. I've owned a MK1 a few years ago but lord, that was terrible! This is much more refined and as this is the MK2 facelift it even comes with some soft touch interior bits, i kid you not.

So its more an interim toy whilst i wait for the new GTI. Will keep you guys posted on progress.
