So, I have had my R for a month now.
I have managed to put just over 1200 Miles on it and in that time I have made a few observations.
The observations are my opinion and are not meant to be "A guide to an RCZ R"

The observations are made against a black silver arched 156 GT on 19 inch wheels with the JBL sound upgrade.

The 19 inch wheels on my R are the standard fit. Upon purchasing the car I was not not vigilant enough with my inspection of them. They are all kerbed in some way, mild on two and worse on the others...I did haggle on the price but the amount received off does not cover much in the way of repairs. I have taken the car to "platinum wheels" to get an estimate only to discover that they have already been repaired, however the repair carried out was a smart repair and not a diamond cut referb. Insult to injury...the one wheel is kerbed right on the R, they cannot guarantee that a diamond cut referb will not cut away the top of the R...

The Seats are far , far more supportive. They are not electric and my wife does not like the fact that there are no heaters! I like them.

The sound system fitted does not have the JBL speakers. You can notice the difference.

The exhaust tone is just what these cars should all sound like, the rumble when it starts is petrol head heaven.

I keep looking for 7th gear. The car is geared to perform, it pulls like a train in all the gears, this 7th gear requirement is very reminiscent of my 205 GTIs need for a 6th gear.. The down side is a higher revving engine that has that exhaust hum at 70 to 80 MPH... Just makes me drive faster....or slower so that i can hear the burbble

The car is a magnet to German car drivers who have read the great reviews. When I drive to work I do not want to race.. Multiple BM's, Rowdies and MINIs all seem to want to push the cool looking Frenchie..
Tailgating annoys me. If I am doing 90 on the M4, in traffic, I don't want to tailgate the man in front. Today an Audi A5 Tdi caught me up in traffic.. tail gated me, I pulled over, he then pulled along side and made a pointy hand gesture in the forward direction and accelerated away from 90....he then had to brake at the car that was now in front of him... I left at the next junction...Bloody idiot.

Torque through the front wheels is tamed by the LSD, this is a new piece of kit for me to drive with and it is taking some getting used to. The car will squirm under heavy acceleration, the diff does its job really well, I kneed to learn how to respond to its interaction in my R driving experience.

Fuel consumption is amazing, I have not dropped below 38 MPG in over a thousand miles. I have driven the car relatively lively at points but I am not autobahn cruising all the time.

No parking sensors on the front nearly caused a dent on my first day of ownership.. My fault for not checking.

I like the Sat Nav.. it functions when I need it.

The fixed spoiler.. I like the look it brings to the car, in my opinion it makes it look aggressive. I like that. Water streaming into the boot when you open it as it has collected on the "Whale tale" I'm not so keen on. I can defiantly get round this though.

Previous owner has gone back to Continentals on the front, I got rid of them on my other Z, I found them to hard, I will be putting some Goodyears back on as soon as I can sell a kidney.

I find the ride much more of a usable suspension setup, it doesn't crash over the rough roads quite as much.

So. One month in, am I a happy man...? You bet I am, I just need the roads to dry out...

Alloy wheels, they are not actually diamond cut, you can have them done but it costs around 140 quid a corner.

Definately replace the continentals with goodyears, they have a new version of the F1's out, assy 3's, though not widely available, assy 2's are well priced at around 130-160 quid, these will make the car far more fun to drive in the wet ;)

Glad to see you're enjoying your R!

The whole stuff with german car drivers, I know what you're talking about... just keep ignoring them. I mean, an Audi A5 diesel, ROFL, wtf? Just a waste of petrol to race it. There is no A5 diesel on the market that can keep with the R. But torque figures are deceptive.

And as already mentioned here, swap those Contis for the Goodyears. You won't regret it.
