2013 1.6thp petrol.. On initial start up it fires up 1st time, then after about 30 seconds it starts to sort of missfire, judder and almost cut out. It never actually does cut out. Car runs normal again for another 30 seconds or so and happens again.. Once car reaches normal operating temperature its completely fine and ticks over perfectly.

Any Fault codes or dash warning lights ? The car needs scanning as it may possibly be there is a issue with the cold start temp sensor this tells the ECU how much Fuel/Air ratio needed to control the combustion cycle due to the data from the sensor in the door mirror reading the outside atmospheric air temp
Misfire & judder can point to coil pack plugs or even fuel rail/pump pressure issue

No codes at all. Replaced coil pack and plugs so far and still same problem.

Sounds like the HPFP these can cause intermittent running issues & judder on a acceleration & lumpy idle

Yes agree with above. That’s exactly how mine went. Sometimes ran like a Ferrari, other times like a Massy Ferguson. Sometimes limp mode, sometimes not. EML almost all the time. New HPFP & Fuel Rail sorted it (thankfully under warranty so didn’t cost me a penny).

Mine does this on the odd occasion on cold mornings but car runs great after a minute or so could be slightly sticking valves I’ve been told.

So today the engine management light came on and car ran like crap. Got to garage and after quick check i have code p1337 ie coil pack fault No1 cylinder. Put spare coil in and still same. No difference in engine with coil connected or unconnected on No1.

I believe that code p1337 is a common fault and it is the on of the first tell tale sign of the hpfp... Sorry to put spanner in the works.. Look back at other people posts on these fault codes...
Hope you get sorted out soon

Swop over coil pack on No 4 for No1 also maybe fuel pressure problem just might be HPFP (low fuel rail pressure) but with Bank1static misfire & codes P1336 P1337 & P1338 these can be related to Cam/Crank position sensor coupled with a depollution fault & timing adjustment being off as ECU reading wrong combustion cycle in cylinder one

Update... So i took it to local garage, he tried everything but couldn't fix as 1st of these cars he's ever had in.. So booked it into Peugoet specialist in Edmonton, London. Yesterday as i prepared to deliver to garage i started car, usual engine management light on immediately and running bad. Then all of sudden the car said "low fuel, top up soon" Then engine management light went out and missfire disappeared. And car ran ok.. So i drove to get petrol and took to specialist. He checked everything also said hpfp works fine. Only problem was slight missfire between 2/3000 revs which he put down to timing as chain worn lose and vibrating.. So told him to change chain. Price aprox £500 all in. Waiting for reply its been fixed.. Will update soon.. #staysafe #drivesafe

Timing ? If it was the chain/tensioner that can cause a static misfire so it would appear as soon as you start the car up as the Engine timing is out of sync & the car would have appear to have a lumpy idle & other running faults your codes came out as Cam/Crank position sensor & they also can cause misfire as the ECU has detected a malfunction in Bank 1 & will try to readjust the timing to rectify the misfire & the wrong combustion cycle
I am not saying he is wrong but to diagnose chain issues causing a cylinder misfire within the rev range to me sounds a bit odd & £500 to swop the chain is amazingly cheap provided he is changing the whole set up ?

Got car back. Seems to be running ok. Cost £650 in end.All genuine Peugeot parts.. . The variable crank cog? That was on car was an aftermarket piece. Upon inspection it was cracked at back, And when i looked at it straight the centre ring that sits on crank wasn't even dead centre. Very poor aftermarket part. Obviously been repaired before. Every thing else was checked and ok. ie hpfp coils etc.. Running really well now.. For moment 😬😬🤣😅
