Can anyone recommend a reputable firm in the west Cheshire area and how much should I expect to pay.
Also is there anything I should do before I get it mapped? I.E filters, terra clean, service, upgrades, etc, etc. Thx in advance 👍

I can’t recommend anyone in your area, but as long as your car is running ok you don’t have to do anything in particular most companies will just write a pre bought map to your ecu some specialists will have a dyno and write a specific map just for your car and alter peramiters as it’s run up on the dyno.

I would strongly suggest you get a engine/electrics health check first & definitely choose a company with a "rolling road" there are couple around Warrington with the right tech know how & have installed ramps roads etc My nieces hubby got his BMW done & paid around £199 & is happy as kid with a new toy !

You need to make sure your engine & electrical system is in good condition & is able to be calibrated without any faults appearing in order to take the upgrade installed in the ECU & the extra loading on the stock parts like clutches plugs coils packs plus you will need to service the car more often than the service schedule dictates
If you take it to a proper diagnostic remap specialist they will have the car on a rolling road first & run it at normal road tolerances & check everything is in working order which is the correct way of doing this type of job before installing the remap
This is what I would definitely do before any work is carried out on the car but I'm not having it done so I can only give you my opinion for what its worth
