Hello,

Had my RCZ 6 days now, she was dropped off at 9am today for her new car detail which will be done by a company called KDS in Medway, Kent.
Will post up pics tomorrow and hopefully she will be looking very glam. Saw some other cars they were working on and they looked amazing.

Cheers,

Paul.......

Sorry paul but in my honest opinion getting a Brand New car anycar PROFESSIONALLY detailed is beyond me :eusa-think: as the benefits of such a deed are minimum to say the least maybe 6 months to a year down the line yes then the difference would be really noticeable but on brand paint :wtf:

While you're on here, it's also the protection to the paintwork that I had it done too. Under their lighting the black roof had loads of scratches which was done by a simple dealer wash before I picked it up, These are now gone. Makes washing the car much easier too.

Doesn't matter how old the car is. Cars come out of showrooms, in some cases, in a worse state than a 10 year old car. It's no different from having Manufacturer Paint Protection applied to a brand new car, but it's done better by a professional Detailer.

Paul I look forward to seeing pics of the car.:)

I too had mine done from new. The best way to look after your paintwork is to have it improved and then protected as soon as possible after purchase. It makes maintenance of it all that more easy. When you have paid out your hard earned cash, then it makes sense to look after your pride and joy the best way possible and a good detailer will help you to do that. Congratulations on your enlightened decision to have the work done and you will not be disappointed.

So what your sayin is pugs straight from the factory are full of swirls and the paint is of a inferior quality.its paul choice yes i look forward to seeing the rcz in merc grey one of fav colours in the rcz so how much does this cost £400-£500 as for the black roof its sooooooooooooooooo delicate sneeze on it it will mark the paint is as thin as a nats nudger sorry to hijack pauls thread AGAIN sorry paul  l but my mind set is enjoy the new car for say the summer months then at least then come winter time or just before the winter get this done swirls and get better value for your money and make the detailer work for his money and the black roof swirls are unavoidable no matter what its coated with :wtf: AS you will find out paul

No I'm not saying Pugs straight from the factory are full of swirls. It's what happens when it gets to the dealers and they "prepare" it before collection. The equipment they use and the way they use them is not conducive to keeping the paint in as new condition. But its not just Peugeot, it's ALL manufacturers.
Costs £250 - £350, similar price that dealers charge for Paint Protection, but you get a far more detailed, better job.

The way you wash a car, the products and equipment you use, have a significant effect on what damage / swirls / scratches you inflict on the car to a higher or lesser degree. By the time I lay my wash mitt on the car, it's about 90% clean already, which means less chance of doing any damage.

But agree the roof is very soft so you have to take extra care.

Most dealers will have the "courtesy" of washing the car before delivery...making the paint looks worse.

Guys, I had my 2nd GT professionally coated by www.Aglaze.com.
It is a high gloss, super smooth finish that protects against UV , bird shit etc.
Aglaze is used by professional racing teams, they even have major airlines like BA having it applied to their aircraft as it reduces drag and makes cleaning easier. Aglaze then have a range of aftercare products to maintain the finish.
They are about to have extensive wind tunnel testing done to further prove its effects.
All I can say is that over the last decade of being an OCD car cleaner and detailing freak I've have tried hundreds of products from he cheap to he stupidly expensive. AGLAZE is the perfect balance between the 2.
I'm about to get a deal / offer that I will post on here that will get you a discount on their products.
Scott

Scott, sealants have really taken off big time over the last few years. More and more come onto the market every year. The thing that appeals to people is their ease of use (in the majority of cases), durability and the ability to keep layering if you want to, for even better durability. Waxes don't last as long as sealants and can be a bit temperamental in their application compared to sealants. Having said that I still enjoy the process of waxing from time to time. Sealants do also keep your car cleaner for longer, in my experience.

Your car looks good too - nice and shiny :)

Hi All,

I'm very happy with the work KDS did with my new RCZ using the Gtechniq product, the photo's do not do it justice. The paint looks like glass and even my 62 year old mother who I expected to say "It doesn't look any different" wants to get her new 208 done when she gets it.
The paint feels so smooth, other customers in the workshop said that the RCZ is a stunning looking car and looks even better after the detail.
They also treated all the leather at no extra, bonus

Some people may think it's a waste of money but for me it was money well spent...

Anyway, here's 3 pics -

•Wheel arches cleaned
•Wheels cleaned using alloy wheel cleaner
•Extra fine clay bar used to remove bonded contaminates from paintwork
•Vehicle re-washed and dried
•Single stage paint correction using finishing polishes (machine applied)
•Vehicle wiped down with a isopropal alcohol (panel wipe) to make sure surfaces are clean
•Paintwork prepped with a pre-wax cleanser to support wax/sealant bonding
•Pre-selected wax/sealant is applied
•Door shuts waxed for added protection
•Wheel sealed to prevent excessive brake dust
•Interior cleaned and vacuumed
•Interior plastics dressed to finish of your choice
•Door seals and rubbers cleaned and protected
•Interior glass cleaned
•Tyres cleaned and dressed with a long lasting tyre gel
