So, the OH has gone to York for the weekend with my step-daughter. I got the privilege of running them to the station, and then going to Meadowhell Christmas shopping :helpme:

However, the up-side of all, this is I got to do a decent run in the Z without hearing a constant “why are we in a rush” and, “that’s a bit fast isn’t it”

So, I did the quickest run from Wakefield to Sheffield ever, keeping one eye out for :law-policered: one eye on the odd TT disappearing in my rear view, one eye on the road & one eye on the speedo. Wait a minute, that’s, well, never mind.

I had a fantastic run there & back only thing it was over too quickly (except for the Christmas shopping)

I NEVER tire of driving my Z, love it just as much now as my first ever drive in it.

Sounds brill', except for the Meadowhall bit.
When we visit the lad and family, oop North, wife always says "Oh we can go to Meadowhall"
Aaaaaaaaaargh!
Not only does it wind me up shuffling from megastore to megastore or waiting outside one, but the traffic round there is alien to me, now. :(
Last visit, it was made worse as they had decided to dig up most of the road between the car park exit and the first roundabout. :wtf:
So it took ages of inching forward and trying not to get eye contact with the shovers-in.
Oh, well, I know I am spoilt here and tomorrow am off South on cruise control, except for the bit through Seville (no money to link the Autovias together apparently).
So six hours to cover five hundred kilometres door to door, including a half hour stop for coffee and over an hour for lunch.

We're going to York for a few days on Tuesday. I'm just going for the drive and beer.

On a related subject. I've spent the last 3 weeks hammering the living shit out of my RCZ, and at fill up time today I calculated it had still averaged 37mpg.

On your visit just watch out for the over enthusiastic speed camera vans they crop up all over the place common area is both carriageways on the A64 around York.
Plecodoras is your man on speed camera sites in York there always seem to be one whenever he pulls out and floors it!
Enjoy your visit.

I’m glad there’s wasn’t (or at least I hope there wasn’t) one on the M1 between j39 & J34 cos I was giving it large on a couple of stretches, :eusa-think: allegedly your honour. :law-policered:

Let’s just say, considerably past second stage spoiler deployment. :eusa-whistle:

Well I'd just like to say as a fully law abiding citizen......

**Ducking** Speed camera vans and oh yeah nearly forgot - NOT - that jumped up greenspace suited, I've got a Police motorbike with a SPEED CAMERA sat on my seat, Oh yeah that'll teach yer Plecodoras.

gradually collecting points like the good ol' green shield stamps !

Them were the days when cops were cops and speeding was just a fineable offence.

Funny enough I drove all the way down my street and round the corner before I saw a Speed Awareness Camera Van,
now I know what one looks like and I'm very aware of my speed, so why do I have to pay them each time I see them ?

Just saying.....
