Is this a good deal from Peugeot???-

Is this a good deal from Peugeot on their passport scheme? They have offered me 5k for my 58 plate 207 (hdi 90) with 32k on the clock which apparently is the trade price according to my Peugeot main dealer. They reckon that the deposit on a sport 156 is £2700 quid although they have said that they would chip in £1000 as a gesture of goodwill then £340 a month for three years! Does that sound about right?

Thanks guys

Andy

This is some sort of lease deal yeah ?

Your gonna be paying £12400 over 3 years plus the initial deposit of £ 2700 then after 3 years you give the car back ? is that how it works ?

I'm not sure how this passport thing works.

In a word yes. Apparently it's the cheapest way to get ourselves into an RCZ!
I should add that you have the option of paying a final bubble payment and paying off the existing finance or hand the keys back owning nothing.

Andy

sell your existing car and lease an rcz 156 GT for £289 a month 10,000 miles a year with an £1,830 deposit OR PAY £310 a month with the same size of deposit and get yourself the rcz 200THP GT.FROM CENTRALVEHICLELEASEING.CO.UK,its far,far cheaper than peugeot and also your getting the gt spec and also 200bhp if you want it.

ps. there is no bubble payment or any other after 24 month.you just had it back and start again

you can get a maintenance plan with any leased car covering tyres, servicing.road tax.my deal only covers road tax the rcz 1st service is at 20k miles i wont do that mileage so no need for a sevice plan.the thing about leasing the rcz is you still get the options on it you want but you would the same length of time as you would if you purchased it, but adding extras does put up the monthly price by a good bit,for example if i had leased the car with your options on it ie satnav, vision pack, alloy upgrade,it would added roughly £120 to my monthly payment so it's NOT worth adding extras.TO A LEASED CAR your best getting the highest standard specced model they have, the best deals about when got my car back in june/july where audiTT170bhp TDI/METALLIC=£237 A MONTH over 2 years £1500 deposit,VW gtd golf with drls and 18"s alloys for £220 a month/2 years £1500 deposit all where 10k miles.

I guess if you can find a good deal that includes the spec you're after and includes tax , insurance ect then it may be a good option, especialy when you take into account the monthly cost of a car loan, insurance, tax, ect ect.

Can you add other drivers to scheme. ?

This may sound a bit daft, but i dont think i would look after a leased car like i would my own, i dont mean i would just trash it but, polishing, waxing stuff like that.

I spend hours going over my car when it comes to cleaning & polishing ect,, there are certain places i wont park, like under trees or next to "old bangers", i've seen me driving out of a car park because i cannot find a "suitable" space.

When Mrs H brings the car home from work i do a full "walk-around" check, this as you can imagine is not the best way to welcome home your wife from work

I think i probably need :helpme:

If i leased a car i would park it next to a dumper truck if i had too.
I dont think i would have that "care" for a leased car :eusa-think:

No

I traded in my 206 cc 2006 plate for £4500 with only 5K on the clock
and my RCZ costs me £279 per month.

I to cannot understand this whole rental scheme. Okay it has it's pro's but majority would say no to this kind of deal. I mean I certainly wouldn't rent a house when I could buy it. You can get yourself in an RCZ for say £350 a month and tell everyone it's yours, you could kerb an alloy and not worry about the repair, you could drive as much mileage as you want without being charged. I agree with Jactac I simply would not care as much for the car like I do now.
I can't help but feel a little sorry for the people who buy these cars after a fleet company has thrashed them around for years.
I think if you want a nice car you'll be paying for it most of your life unless of course your not short of a few quid.

i must be the exception to the rule mate,i do care :( i could not afford the monthly payments that peugeot where wanting £500 with £4000 deposit  as i was unemployed and back to being unemployed at moment,so leasing the car was my only option, and i take care of it as if it was my own,my car is in better condition now than when the leasing gave it to me and will remain that way.at the end of my 2 year lease my car will inspected all over and and kerbed alloys/dented bodywork i will have to pay for them, and any miles over 20,000 miles i will also pay for.

I got my stock RCZ Sport THP156 in Nera Black last Friday after trading my 09' 207 Sport Cielo (11,500 miles) in for £6800, (£900 more than what was owed on the PCP finance), I slapped another £3k down as a deposit, got GuardX and alloy/tyre cover and the payments are £251 a month for the next 3 years. The Guaranteed final value (GFV) has been set at just over £10,500.

I think a combo of higher than normal GFV (the dealer said apparently it is because the RCZ is rather desirable :) and retains its value more than other Peugeots - usually I would expect a GVF of approx 35%, not 50% as with the RCZ), decent trade-in price for my 207 (higher that I expected as they are low on used car stock in my dealer), £3,900 deposit and the September PCP RCZ offer of 6.1% APR have managed to get the repayments down to £251 a month.

Refrenz, looks like you got a good deal with 6.1%. They could not offer me anything like that so I went through the bank. It is interesting to see you got wheel and tyre insurance, the dealership I got mine from could not provide this for me. Would you mind telling how much it cost and what was included so I can try them again?
