Is it me or my Dealer

My wifes car was booked in yesterday to have the back plates repainted all round.

The car was fully valeted before it went in. The car was inspected by them from top to bottom before work started. I made sure that they inspected the wheels for any marks. They wrote on job sheet all wheels 100%

I told the service desk, the workshop controller if any damage is done to my car I would hit the roof on collection.

Guess what, you are ahead of the game. The front wheels where all marked around the wheel stud holes down to the grey primer.

The S--t hit the fan big time, I felt like slapping the service girl and punching the lights out of the mechanic. So angry about it.

It is now booked in friday to have 2 brand new rims fitted, can I trust them to do that. I will be present all the way though the tyre fitting process.

Very p....d, Ian

Have to say that if you'd said all that to me while dropping off your car, upon return you would have also found something "not quite right" with it.

I'd have been more subtle with the damage though ;)

You should learn to lighten up, treat people with respect and then maybe you'll receive good service.

Bad news that it's happened to you - not unexpected given your attitude though

i totally empathise with you i put my car a brand new honda type R GT with wait for £2,500 optional extra 19" wheels not the budget ones you get with a rcz real classy wheels for a dealer recall and the dealer curbed them.they picked the car up drove it back i was on holiday at the time they picked up from my mothers home and took it back there my mother never thought to check the car..................but to cut a long story short they gave 2 wheels at cost price ~£768 they said i should have mentioned it when the car was returned...........................  never trust them never

Hi Gorwell

Never had this problem with any other Dealers, Fantastic service from Audi, BMW and even Ford.

How the hell do you lighten up when someone has damaged your car that you have worked hard.

Attitude does not come into it. I make it quite clear what I expect from them, How can you treat a Dealer with respect when they could not respect my investment.

Look at the thread GUTTED least I know who damaged my car, have they lighten up, I do'nt think so

Every time never had a problem with Audi.

Still use our local Dealers, never had a problem with the service (even with my attitude as some might say).

Mind you none had to go back with rusty hubs and backplates after 7 months

Jassyo06 is right they are budget alloys you get with RCZ with a lick of paint on. Peugeot still have not yet got a paint code for the full black alloys.

Never mine, I have lighten up now and will take my car back Friday to the safari Park so the monkeys can have another play with it.

I've completely lightened up after my very expensive trip to the shops, but if I find the white 306 with the cr4ppy wheels and the stupid novelty air freshener hanging from the mirror, I will hunt you down and gut you like a fish!!!

Yeah, i'm totally over it now.................................

Like you said "Least you know who damaged my car...", although its a right royal pain in the 4ss your wheels will be repaired and it wont make a dent in your pocket.

A main dealer garage should be a place you can take and leave your car in the knowledge it's going to be looked after the way you yourself would look after it. Unfortunately on this occasion it wasn't and Im sure the mechanic will be reminded of the cost to repair your wheels everytime he comes to do the same job again.

Hope they are sorted soon for you pal.

All the Best

I have taken a chill pill now, so I am fully relaxed for the next instalment.

I can go in tomorrow with no attitude and full respect for their wonderful service that they are going to provide me.

I have not taken the bait from Mr Gorwell but he has guided me towards the light, educated me on how to achieve and experience the wonderful Peugeot Dealer service. God Bless him.

Tbh i am dreading my first tyre change on 19" solstice....
Mine got damaged during my recent puncture repairs  Carelessness is the cause I'm afraid. No point getting upset about it, as it is a fact of life. These days people do not take a pride in their work because they are not treated right by their employers. No more jobs for life and being cared for/about, you are only as good as your last task and will be dispensed with without a second thought  The world is not as nice a place as it once was

Got to get my winter tyres fitted soon... now you've got me worried :( :( :(
...having said that I can't say I've noticed any damaged wheels before from tyre fitters ... but then again I've never had brand new unscuffed wheels so who knows.......

I've never had any damage to my alloys when having new tyres fitted and believe me, I always check.

Just had Pearl in today for a first year interim service and replacement wing mirrors and they could not have been more helpful. Really first class service and explained everything to me. From first booking in the car to be serviced to picking it up tonight, really top notch
