Ipod playback quality

Just wondering what settings on both the stereo and the ipod you guys use when playing your ipod through the car. I've got the proper USB slot in the centre pocket but some music I listen to I find not the best playback :/

I have the volume on the iPod just above half way. Not full volume. I find that gives a better sound quality. I also have the Loud setting on, on the car stereo. I find the quality of sound us excellent.

What about the bass and treble settings?

I use my iPhone for music playback. All songs in iTunes are first set to equaliser Flat, and music volume +75%.
iPhone music equalizer also set to Flat and RCZ ng4 equalizer is linear (I think) and Loudness on. Bass and treble are 6 or 7. I have phone connected to RCA inputs and 3.5 head phone jack. Sound great! The volume on iPhone is set to MAXIMUM.

As far as I can remember they are st default settings.
