I've seen something like this over at the "German Institute for new Materials" some years ago, and they predicted that somewhere around 2015 such a sealing could be available for car manufacturers.

Holy cr@p batman! That is amazing stuff :ugeek: Wonder how long it lasts though. The paintwork on the car would have to be faultless before applying.

I like the way it says for industrial use only, not tried for personal use

It's the same sort if technology used by Gtechniq and others. I've done a similar video with Gtechniq I1 the interior protector used on a paper tissue and water dropped into it. The water won't soak into the tissue. The beads of water just roll around the tissue.

This is definitely the future and I look forward to the day when my car no longer gets dirty :)

I don't believe you RCZ1. If your car didn't get dirty, then what would you do at the weekend

I've also seen very very similar trials done using polymers when I worked in the plastics industry.
Millions were spent on testing and trials some years ago by my company alone, the uses for this type of product are vast.

Theres many products that lay on top of the surface acting as a repellent, just as this product is doing, the clever stuff comes when a full water repellent can be blended into a coating like vehicle paint prior to application.
The problem with lay on repellents is that with time they break down and deteriorate.

I would guess that a blended paint repellent for vehicles would send the price of a new car and any future body repairs through the roof, as it would be a specialist material that would need to be blended and applied in a totally different way to standard paints.

Yeah...but you'd stink under your coating and wouldn't be able to apply and cologne or body spray. People wouldn't want to sit down wind of you!!:(
