Abz and I were discussing this on Friday. Serves him right for sitting on the rev limiter for 15 solid mins in an attempt to make his inlet manifold glow white. What a total tube!! Funnier still is the fact that the police know exactly how it happened and are refusing to give him an accident report for an insurance claim.

Even if the police did, I doubt they would pay out. Videos are all over facebook.

Totally serves him right!!! He pretty much ruined the meet for everyone. As Figo indicated, there used to be a fairly significant number of modders who would meet and cruise around the beach boulevard (not particularly affectionately known as 'bouley bashers'). It was never a scene I was into and far too many pea brained idiots involved locally. I don't think it is quite such an active scene in the area these days though. :eusa-think: There is a fairly devoted minority still going about though who have a thing for modified cars...and beards!!

Ha ha! That will teach him to try and show off. It still boggles my mind how the Ford Focus became such a popular car. It is a nice vehicle and the gas mileage is great, so don't get me wrong. They look nice and Ford has really come a long way in the quality of their products, I will certainly give them that. But to try and make a Focus a hot rod and rev the motor like that? Come on, just stick to the fact that they look nice to drive and are great for daily travel. Leave the hot rods to the cars that are worthy of it.

The focus was and still is probably one of the finest driving front wheel drive cars. Especially the MK1 when you think of the fodder that other manufacturers were ploughing out. Even a basic 1.4 focus was a tidy car to drive whereas most other manufactures were happy to churn out rubbish and then only tidy up the handling for their halo models. take the similar era 306. Amazing in GTi form... a piece and a half in its lowest guise. Even Vauxhall back then couldn't get it right. the Astra SRi's had lost their way considerably and even the SRi-Turbo was dull.

Not to mention what VW was doing to the golf at that point  Stuffing its face full of cakes and giving it an asthmatic engine

Absolutely. I'm still driving an ST170 at present, and it's like a little go-kart.

Plus Fords have always been great for their cheap/fast models, and for their ease of tarting up for want of a better phrase, hence their popularity. This is my 8th Ford I think off the top of my head, and only a couple of the really cheap early cars in my life have been bad buys.

TY kindly. I'll head out tomorrow, though not interested in a diesel, my current commute (until about this time next year) is 2 miles each way, I will kill a diesel, so it's a no go.

They are meant to be arranging a test drive for me though so we'll see.
