Hi, going to look at a red carbon with 18k

Hi all, going the look at a red carbon hdi with 18k miles on the clock.
Sales guy said they have had to refurb the wheels in satin black, so I asked if they had been powder coated he said no sprayed.
Then told me it is awaiting prep for scuffs to the front and rear bumpers.
Car is up @ 13k and has put me off a bit, as at that money and mileage I thought it would have been mint.

Not everyone looks after their cars like us enthusiasts but at 18k mileage is a rare find and on the HDI is like a new motor it’s up for a lot of money but could be worth it and either they or you can bring it back to mint and look after it as it should have been

No, I put a deposit of £100 and they took the ad down.
The mileage was the main hook and silly me thought it would be 9.75/10
One of the scuffs on the bumper is 20cm tall and removed the paint down to the black plastic.

Make sure they have repainted the whole bumper my mate has his own body shop & he states you cannot just spray patches on these panels so watch out for any blemishes on the Lacquer coat

he says it having smart repairs carried out.
wheels have been sprayed. which puts me off as they want top money for the car, but fix as cheap as they can.
They have put two new budget tyres on the front, which i am not happy about.
But its the 18k miles that keeps me wanting it lol

Just spoke to sales man and no movement on price.....
So Cheap tyres on front which should of be been ps4's

Bodged wheels by just spraying with tyres on?
oh decisions, car right colour, right spec which is mainly the lights with the dark background and black pack and low miles.

I feel your pain When I was looking for RCZ, it took me two months to find the one with the right specs. When I found it, there were some minor scratches and no service history. Eventually, I decided to buy it anyway and it turned out to be a decent purchase.

The biggest issue for me is that it is a Euro 5 diesel car and you are paying top dollar. As more congestion zones are rolled out cars not meeting the criteria are going to be undesirable. If you're thinking about paying top money for a low mileage car with future value in mind then I don't think a diesel is the sensible option.


If the wheels are spray painted properly the finish could be better than power coating. It won't be as durable though. I suspect it will be a cheap smart repair of the wheel faces.

Most dealers only carry out smart repairs on body panels and bumpers.

Budget tyres are a big no for me. For the difference of £100-150 for a pair of budgets to premium tyres is corner cutting I don't understand. Why put off customers for so little cash?

The bumpers are getting the smart repair, which a chap said should be a full respray on them to do a proper job on them.
