Just got a manual RCZ THP200 i love it so far the engine sound is amazing under acceleration

The only thing annoying me are the gear changes, it's not smooth at all actually my old 207 RC gear changes were much smoother :helpme:

I hope anybody could help on this issue.

Thanks

Thank you, yes it's brand new late 2011 model my dealer kept it in the showroom all this time but never ran it, it had 10 km on the odometer when I took delivery of it.

I hope the gear changes loosen after a while but I think it's different from one car to another, people were also complaining about the 207 RC (GTi) gear changes but mine was perferct.

Welcome to the forum and RCZ ownership! :-D I agree with Jassy, the car has been sat for a long time in the dealership and is still new so it'll take the first thiusand miles or so to get loosened up. The gearbox on my RCZ is stilk very notchy in gear changes back and forth from first to second but you shouldn't really experience what you are experiencing after you put some more miles on it.

Have you any pics to share of your new pride and joy? Predictably, we love an RCZ snap or ten!!!:lol::lol:

Notchy short throws are sign of a proper strong box. I think it suits the nature of the car perfectly. Congrats on the new ride. I've had mine for a month now and still love every second with it. Best for me is full throttle runs through the close gears! Revs drop very little and makes the car sound very sporty!

Welcome.

The Notchy short throws are just how I like it to feel, and it's been that way since day one and hasn't changed in 7.000 kilometers.

If it felt like a ford focus, I'd be disappointed, I didn't buy a Japanese car ;)

Hi RCZ THP200 and welcome to the forum.

Changing gear in the RCZ is like.................making love to a beautiful woman. Dont rush things, if it doesnt go straight in, come out and try again gently. It works for me.

Best wishes, Swiss Tony

 aka, Snowy :D

Sorry but I'm more of a just bog it on in nothing like a bit of brute force and the box in just a notchy as my bimmer was but i like that
