Hi there,

First post, anywhere on net so please be gentle.

Been a forum member for 4 weeks now. Purchased my GT200 from my local Peugeot dealer on 19th Nov, I believe it had been somebody from peugeots company car. It replaced a nearly 3 year old MX5 roadster coupe. At the time I really loved my MX, however, after having lived with my RCZ for a couple of weeks I feel it is time to post my initial thoughts.

Everyone who has seen it is simply blown away by it's looks, and tbh they can't believe it's a pug.Everyone who has seen it doesn't know what it is and says they've never seen one before.

Running costs ( tax, mpg, Insurance) are more than favourable considering the performance and also much better than my MX5 (2ltr sport).

Build quality is excellent and tbh is also on a par with mk2 Audi tt ( which I also drive as my mum has one), so not posting that comment to be controversial. Sure some of the plastics in the RCZ particularly lower down in the cabin may not be the best but hey it doesn't concern me.

The sound from the engine is addictive particularly when driving " enthusiastically"

The Bluetooth integration is excellent as is the USB audio

The vision pack with cornering headlights is a fantastic option and well worth the money

Only had one issue with car, and that is too much play in the seat base/back rest which has been very noticeable under heavy braking, this is being sorted under warranty tomorrow.

Apologies for the long first post, however, this car has restored my enthusiasm and just makes me look forward to driving it every time.

Congrats everyone on such a great forum, you have made it a great place to check in with the latest news etc every day.

Thanks

Hi beetle9 and welcome to the forum :greetings-wavingblue: . No apologies needed re the length of your post. We all love reading other members' opinions of their RCZ and especially when they include observations from people commenting on your car. I've had only very favourable comments directed to me about mine and it gives you a warm, smug feeling. I don't really care whether or not the interior has plastic. I'm more interested in the outer appearance and reliability and for that the RCZ ticks all the boxes.

I hope you continue to enjoy your new car and the forum. Don't forget, we always love to see pics too  .

Hi beetle9

We have exactly the same taste in cars - hubby has a 3year old 2ltr MX-5 roadster coupe (was yours in red?!!!!) and my RCZ is also a black one. Welcome to the forum :) I had never posted anything on a forum before this one and I find it totally addictive - just like my RCZ! :)

Cheers

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Just an update on the issue which i mentioned in my first post ref the play in the drivers seat. This was booked in to be sorted yesterday under warranty by fitting new seat runners. Dropped the car off first thing, received a call from dealer at lunchtime to say that the replacement seat runners had been checked and were faulty.
Luckily they had realised this before removing the drivers seat to fit the new runners.

Parts have been re-ordered, and car will need booking in again for approx a day.

Hey scarlet, my mx5 was galaxy grey with Bose stereo and cd autochanger, i really loved the car at the time but as it was my only transport and i have a 30 mile commute it really wasnt any good in the snow/ice, hence one of the reasons for changing. Whether i miss being able to drop the top will remain to be seen pending better weather.

RCZ1, will post pics once we have some better weather.

regards

hey Hart

Not long now til you collect your RCZ, bet you cant wait?, good luck with the sleepless nights until then!

I see you have gone for the vision pack, it really is awesome. My car was essentially a demo model, i hadnt really discussed its spec with the dealer. When i went to collect it i saw the sections on the front bumper where the headlight washers pop out, i asked if it had xenons "oh no it doesnt have those", imagine my surprise when the first time i drive it in the dark i can see the headlights angling round bends, and when i activate the windscreen washers the headlights get cleaned too!, happy days!. This option also comes with tyre pressure monitoring sensors.
