I have just bought a Peugeot RCZ 2.0 HDi 163 and am very impatiently waiting to pick it up from the garage once my personalised plate has been transferred from my Renaultsport Megane. Does anyone know how long the DVLA are taking at the moment to transfer registration numbers?

Sooooo can't wait to get behind the wheel of this gorgeous car!

Hi Rachel, firstly, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your good taste

Usually you would be looking at 2 - 3 weeks for a cherished plate transfer. Unfortunately, the new reg is just about to start on Saturday, which means the DVLA will be extremely busy so you may have to wait a little longer but good luck with it and dont forget to post some pics when you finally get her............or him :D

If you live close to a DVLA office you can take it in and do it over the counter. Speeds the process up a lot.

I thought local offices have stopped doing that. The two nearest to me have. I only had to wait two weeks though last May :)

I think you'll find it has to be sent to Swansea now....local offices don't deal with them. My husband wanted to put his on retention and it had to be sent off. I'm hoping that because the peugeot dealer is doing it, it might come back quicker

Ahhhh maybe they have.

I've just come back from living in Australia for 3 years and used to do mine at the local office. Looks like you have saved me a trip over to Shrewsbury, as I'm just about to put my plate on the RCZ ....

I'm sure that's the case so it would have been a wasted trip but might be worth a phonecall

Certainly wouldn't be a wasted journey. The drive alone from Nantwich to Shrewsbury along the A530/A49 or the A53 are fantastic in the RCZ.

Lovely countryside
Good road surface
Not much traffic
And a real mix of bends and straights

Hmmmmm think I might just take a trip to confirm :greetings-wavingblue:

Yes checked online....all local offices have been closed....it has to go to Swansea. I'm hoping I've missed the rush. It's on a 7 day insurance provided by the dealer so hopefully the DVLA will look at the application and realise they have to get on with it PDQ!!

Good luck with that one mate. Looks like I'm in for a long wait too. I won't be able to send mine off until early next week.

My Reg on my old Vito .....
