Hi - just got my GT 200 in black yesterday. I'm definitely 18. I may look 50+ but thats because mirrors aren't built like they were.

Peugeot dealerships are extremely uneven! Has anyone had issues?

Please do not come on here and start with dealerships  You don't want to start me in particular off on that subject

But out of politeness............... please describe your experiences

Sorry to wind you up on dealers!!

I took some time on deciding on the right car. After speaking with several firms - only one called me back more than once - I found a firm on AutoTrader and agreed a deal with a dealer in the midlands (I'm in London) - should I mention the firm?

Despite the fact that they inflated the price - fees that were not presented in their advert and that nobody else attempted to charge me - they were paid, and the car was supposed to be delivered a week later (in stock, so no supply problems). I took the afternoon off work to await delivery.

At 1100 in the morning I got a call to say that as the car was originally from Northern Ireland they couldnt tax or deliver the car on the day or week agreed. This after constant communication on money and add on sales through the week.

I'd had enough. 4 hours later I was reimbursed in full and dealt with the relevant insurance issues too.

So I was disillusioned by the network but loved the car, persevered and found a good dealer - Chippenham Motors - who were very professional and everything went smoothly.

End of rant!!

Ok. You will not be aware but I have a downer on the majority of car dealerships. However I'm neither stupid nor totally blind.

So let's take the positives from this unnamed (leave it that way) dealer. They did phone to say that they were clueless and you weren't going to get your purchase as promised. They did give you your money back, without the need of threats etc. So lets now face reality, most dealers are inept and clueless, they should have known the implications of the car being an import. They should have presented you with all costing at the time of the negotiation.

Unfortunately dealers pay peanuts, employ monkeys and monkeys move around the jungle at such a rate and they repeat the same mistakes over and over, because nobody takes the time to train them. All they want is the commission because repeat business is of no use or concern to them, by the time you are looking to change your new purchase, they will have changed dealerships several times.

Rant over (until the next time  )

Hi Sandman :greetings-wavingblue: and welcome to the Forum,
...0058RON has summed up so many dealers out there ,,but its good to hear that your dealings with that initial incompetent dealer didn't put you off getting 'the car that chose You' as its termed on this Forum.

The advice to all new Z owners is 'Beware Kerbs' as they will jump out at your alloys given the chance and sometimes more than once !! In the event the kerbs manage to kiss your alloys you won't be the first nor the last ,,i'm a former alloy abuser myself blah blah blah! :sleeping-yellow:

Enjoy your car

.the big blue (same ole, same ole, BUT i still feel the pain !)

There are some decent dealerships out there but like you have found, they can be very hit and miss. Luckily for me I have found one that's great for Sales and my local one has an excellent service department. So between the two I'm well covered.

Hi Sandman and welcome to the smug zone  I'm sure in time the positives will disperse any negatives and the mere thought of your Z will fill you with joy and youthful excitement, or is that just me :eusa-think:
