Just a reminder for those who feel the heat.
We are expecting temps towards the end of this week to hit or pass FORTY degrees C (over ONE HUNDRED Fahrenheit; not that unusual in August, but rare here in June.
In the UK it is unlikely to reach that, but it is all relative!
Stay cool, and think of oldies, babies, and pets.
Water is key, and it does not have to be freezing cold to be efficacious.

I'll believe it when I see it since it's been weeks of torrential rain here so far. British Summertime, you know... :wtf:

Weather forecast last night for France and Spain today, 45C !!

just a bit warmer than the UK...

Whats going on in Edinburgh 25C when Yorkshire area and rest of Scotland is only 17C ?

Strange.......

Just glad it's not 45 here - I'd melt..

Headlines regarding weather are often a bit silly; Spain; France! :eusa-think:
Both rather large areas with a range of weather being experienced in them.
We have low thirties today, but preparing (liquid and mind-set) for forty at the weekend.

We arrived back in the UK today from Southern Italy (Monopoli/Alberobello region) and we had 36 degrees most days. It was wonderful  (so was the ice cold Peroni) :D

Like I said in my "37" WAFFLE (linked above), above 37C (99F), the body is having to do some tricks to prevent hyperthermia and dehydration.
But I think it very unlikely the UK will hit those sort of figures.
We touched 36C today under the porch, in the shade, on the East side of the house, late afternoon and inside the house it crept to 30C.
So, all external orifices (doors and windows) shut, and air cond units in main living area and bedroom one, were fired up, but on low.
The main unit is a General split system, which are the more commercial versions of Fujitsu, and are incredibly efficient and quiet on lower settings.
The bedroom one is a sort of portable, in that it is on wheels but has to vent through a sort of elephant's trunk to the outside.
It rumbles and on low is just about tolerable.
Bring it on, Beelzebub!
Plenty of beer in the fridge.

Today I traveled with the RCZ on ambient temp. of 42°C. Is my personal top score. I only caught the 40 on the pic below. It was constantly changing btw 40 and 42.
The aircon just did it to maintain a pleasant interior temperature after it had to cool down the scorching hot interior. Cause I parked her for hours on an open space. While changing the gears I couldn't touch the knob   too hot. After about 5-7 minutes all was good and temperature was way below 30ies. Then I put the aircon back to 20°C and moved on.
