Heated rear window

Does the heated rear window work off a timer ? What I mean really.... once selected does it ever turn itself off ? I find that it doesn't, which causes the heater fan to run very fast and loud constantly. Only solution to stop the infernal noise is to turn it off manually.

Mine turns itself off automatically after about 10 minutes or so.

The rear window (the right button) turns itself off after 10 min or so. The front window clearance (the left button) goes on until you turn it off and keeps the fans running loudly. Are you sure that you mean the rear window heater? You shouldn't have any fans running as it's the wire elements in the window that clear the frost etc.

From your description I have it wrong. It is the left hand button that I need to deactivate.

I think xzibit206 has hit the nail on the head. I press the left and right screen buttons the right turns itself off but the left doesn't and the noise is spoiling my musical enjoyment on my route to and from work.

Ron once your windscreen clears, literally a couple of minutes, if that, then you can turn the setting off and listen to your music in peace. :thumbup:

anyone noticed how filthy the inside of the rear window gets i dont do nowt in my car ie smoke the front windscreen is always steaming up as well and gets filthy too i have never had this before in a car

i didn't notice until i cleaned it for the first time. I noticed there are some grills behind the head rests in the rear but haven't inspected them too closely, are these speakers or vents to the boot?

Vents I think.

I've just bought one of these to clean the inside of the windscreen and the back window. Makes it so much easier to reach into those tight areas.

I think you'll find the muck is the residue from breath. The moisture condenses on the cooler glass, then the water content evaporates, leaving behind whatever was dissolved in it.

Yea that and greasy hair stains from your not so short friends in the back. Now is it best to sit your backside on the rear seats and clean or stand with gluteus maximus outside & lean in?

I clean it on weekly bases bee and also on the steaming up side of things my headlamps even foglamp are condensating up frequently :eusa-think:

Jassyo06 I think your seal for said lights has been damaged. As to my knowledge lights are meant to be watertight.

That is a fault. Will only get worse, so get it mended for nought, whilst you still can :|

In that case how is moisture getting into the sealed unit ?

I think I have the same problem. Did you replace your bulbs? I'm wondering if moisture/damp air got it when this was done.

I think jassy has replaced every bulb on the car :eusa-shhh: Warranty
