Hi Fellas,
I need to do a headlight resto on my RC and my 308 lenses, any suggestions as to products and compounds?
The RCZ isn't too bad yet but the 308 does need a cut and polish before they get any worse - I was looking at the Meguiars kit, but I'm open to suggestions as I have never had to do this before.

Many thanks in advance!

If you have a look on YouTube you will see there are various informative videos showing how to do it with different grades of wet & dry sandpaper & soapy water.
I gather it just takes some perseverance & elbow grease.

Thanks, yep I've been looking at a LOT of videos! I'm more confused than ever! It's the lacquer bit at the end that's causing concern, some kits include a finishing solution and others appear not to - going to go with Maguiars!!

Let us know how you get on. Maybe some before & after photos ? I’m sure there will be a few members that would be interested in doing the same.

Thanks guys, I could try the soapy wooder(!) and 2000 / 2500 recipe first, can't do too much damage with that!!

I think the only one I watched showed the various grades of paper and ended with some form of polish. I wasn’t really paying attention tbh, but the results did look impressive, if the video was real.

I’m sure I’ve seen some form of liquid application that’s supposed to work good too🤔

Probably glass headlights then, or was it candles in a lantern 🤔😉

Apparently my local body shop offers a service that gets headlights looking like new again. They charge £60 but I suppose that’s only any good to people who live round the Wakefield area 🤔
