Gutted - drivers side alloy

I.ve owned my Z (13 reg) for 6mths and noticed a darker shade on one of the spokes about size of a 50p. Upon a closer inspection it appears as tho the laquer has gone and the shiny surface isn.t diamond cut so maybe i picked up something off the road and it ate into alloy. I re laquered it to protect and noticed that on some parts of the rim it has been repaired kurbing so i have a dilema.
I rang a local refurber who said they could repolish etc the wheel and takes a week @ £120 but would be guaranteed by 2nd party or for £240 i could have all alloys powder coated in any colour for 2 days work and fully guaranteed.
My question is as i have no spare wheel go for the powdered coated and if so what colour do i go for as the 19" technicals are on my mercury grey Z .??
Or do i for-go repolished alloy and hope it does happen again.

If you want low maintenance then id go for the powder coat. You can get a wide range of colours so they may even have something that sticks close to the original colour.

If you repolish, remember to seal the wheels with a speacialist sealant every now and then to prevent pitting and corrosion. Laquer doesnt fully stick so its not as protective as a sealant. And of course dont use abrassive or aggressive wheel cleaners.

Cheers Ab, low maintenance is always the way forward lol and easier to repair future kerbing D.I.Y.
The only thing i`m concerned about is the new colour tbh. I`ve done some minor tastefull mods and i think gun metal grey is common and maybe too dark but wanna enhance the wheels. I`ll pop down and see their colour charts tomorrow. You would think technology is available to super impose the colour and see what it would look like.

Cheers bud well as its mercury grey i don`t fancy any retro or bold electric colours lol. I believe you can have metallic flecked paints and i`m not sure whether dark greys or light grey but i think white and blacl are out ?
maybe if they did light blue flecked/grey paint hehe

Well popped over this morning and after speaking to a few of the guys who do the alloys i`m happy to say that i`ve chosen Shadow Chrome finish on the outer and the main and inner wheels will be a base black with a metallic over spray. Hence a two tone.
The owner told me they do all the main Pug dealers in the N.W and the diamond cut wheels are notorious for problems esp moisture lifting the laquer etc. He said with our roads and weather and salt etc they cause problems. Thx again for the pics Abs. Ill book car in after the new year and will add pics when done. On a another note decided to take car to an Umo car wash but had the pro shield treatment at £8.50 it looks pristine and even the underneath was done happy days
