I think your issues are quite focussed in the UK where the cars are $3000, thats a business class ticket or a good night out drinking. a $3000 car that looks cool is going to be bought by people who will treat it like a $3000 car and just bash it around and sell it when something breaks. I reckon those who have bought their cars 10 years ago and kept them till now would have far far less problems.

I have maintained my car extremely well since I bought it, had at least 2 services and 1 extra oil change per year. But then it is an R and I intend to keep it as it’s a beast on the road.
