Gearbox oil change for the R.

Well ive finally got round to changing the gearbox oil in my R, the old oil didn’t look too bad, until I saw the colour of the new oil!!
The gear change and smoothness just confirms to me that it needed doing, well worth doing in my opinion.

75000 miles on her now, definitely recommend changing the oil at that mileage

30.000 Klm ?? So will you be dropping it out again at 60.000Klm ?

Yes I probably will...if I still have the car by then. Wanted to do as bought used so wanted to see what fluid was like etc

I would opt for Total Traxium gear 8 B71 2330 that's what went in my 200 GT as it offers protection during cold starts which is what swayed my choice

Yes that’s what I put in it, total traxium gear 8, 75w 80, definitely quieter on cold starts, holds 2.1-2.2 litres, not a difficult job with the correct tools.

as RCZR on here stated the Gti 270's have the gearbox oil change as part of their service schedules and has the same/similar Torsen weirdly not so for the RCZ 270.
