Just thought I'd ask this , although I know a number of people will have conflicting views on the subject. Currently I am running on regular unleaded which in fairness hasn't caused any issues. I have had a well documented issue with what Peugeot blame to be a faulty ignition coil when going round a right handed bend, explained away by them as the lack of spark not igniting the fuel which has been pushed to one side of the cylinder (unbelievable in my opinion but I suppose plausible). If as Peugeot suspect is the issue is there any value to swapping to super unleaded ? do people prefer to use the higher octane fuel anyway? is there any performance difference between the two fuels?

Hi Myalls, some people say there is a performance difference, but TBH they could just be 'looking' for it - I started using various super unleaded in my GT200 but have been exclusively using Shell VPower Nitro+ for the last 3,000 miles and I will say it does make a difference - perhaps not in ultimate 'go', but it certainly seems smoother.

I can't give you a back to back comparison as I have only used Tesco Momentum 99, which as the name indicated has a 99 RON octane rating.
The Extra Octane rating may give you a little bit more go that standard 95 RON especially in a Turbo engine, but you are probably more likely to get a cleaner burn and a bit better fuel economy.
Anyway I wanted the best for my baby. After all you wouldn't give a Crufts winner, budget dog food would you?
