First Service :s

Booked the batmobile in for its first service in the morn; should have had it in a while ago but hectic few months so its first service will be 10k or thereabouts. Hopefully there are no issues but I can't see why there would be, not so much as had a puncture (touch wood) so hopefully she won't let me down!

Its a shame something as simple as putting your car in the garage can be so stressful; a few months ago I booked it for £189 and had to cancel so I called up again today and was told it would be £120 - I asked why the price has changed and they apologised and requoted £105 - Arnold Clark eh?

Still no mods whatsoever because it doesn't really need them but seriousy thinking about it; my ex has the pearl white limited edition one and has had all sorts of issues, really bad luck, needed some serious engine work and was off the road for 4 weeks with only 14000 miles *gulp*.

Wish me well :)

Don't expect too much work to be done on your Batmobile, as jassy has said the official first service is 2years or 20,000miles. So just expect it to receive a cursory glance by a spotty youth

My first official service is 1 year or 10k miles.

Another money making scheme I suppose.

Are you sure that is not simply an "advisory" service rather than "Official" your service record booklet will give the precise answer. I pose the question as I believe that as of a certain date Peugeot changed the servicing requirements from the original 20,000 or 2 Years to annually. However even the bi annually one, they muted that it would be a good idea to have an "interim" inspection at 12 months. Which I suspect has more to do with your comment than anything else,

It has recently changed to one year /10k miles on all new Peugeot's. To increase business in the Service department.

Hmmm. When did this happen? That is shocking! I would take issue with it being pointlessly serviced (contrary to the documentation that they themselves provided) in order to drum up business rather than because it is recommended to maintain the car.

It's all new registered Peugeot's and will have come from Peugeot France. It may also be an attempt to keep a closer eye on cars in order to spot potential problems and resolve them before they happen. It's not going to cost anymore than 2 year service intervals I wouldn't have thought. I've had 2 services in 2 years, a year apart, just because I thought it best. That's just my way of thinking.
