ECU light. HDI

Hi all

Anyone had a fault with the ecu light referring to the common rail sensor! Also on start up it says engine oil level measurement failure.

It went in last Saturday for them to say it may need a new ecu, or it could be a sensor or it might need the common rail taking apart.

It went in today, turned out they just reset the ecu again and all is okay. At the moment. Apparently Peugeot are aware of this ecu fault.

Anyone else out there had a similar fault? Its a 2013 HDI, GT.

On my second HDi and have never had a single error or warning light come on.

I had this problem when I put a chip on my car. Got it cleared and no error since.

Something not right again. No ecu lights, the car seems okay power wise, but the last 10 months its been averaging 44mpg and since getting it back, even changing gear at 1500 revs and taking it easy, its now displaying 30-33 mpg. This is definitely not right.

Can Peugeot mess about with the ecu with settings and making it drink more fuel ! ?

Fuel consumption does increase during the DPF regeneration cycle.
However, that should only kick in when driving at higher revs.
Also, such a cycle typically only lasts 20 minutes or so (there's no way to see that it is happening as far as I know).
I know that dealers can perform forced regeneration, but don't know any details about this.
I think you should give them a call.

How long are you driving for and at what speeds/distance?
I only do about 7 miles on each trip at the moment, and im getting only 33-36 mpg.
With Diesels, you have to do more miles to see more miles, if that makes sense.

It was a few ten mile runs whilst resetting and comparing. I have done it before the ecu light problems and had mpg readings of 40 + mpg. Maybe I will give it a further run and see again.
